10 most interesting grants within OP SG in 2016


Dear All, year 2016 will provide important opportunities to obtain EU funding for the development of the company. In addition to the 16 regional programs and a special program dedicated to Eastern Polish regions, the main source of financing for commercial projects is the Operational Program Smart Growth. Below we present 10 of the most interesting competitions under that program, available to companies in 2016:
  • Submeasure 3.3.3 Support for SMEs in the promotion of product brands– Go to Brand
The measure is dedicated to entrepreneurs from selected sectors (see attached presentation), and offers the support for the participation in:

- sectoral promotion programs- for each of the selected sectors, a 3-year promotion program will be developed, including a catalog of various promotional activities for entrepreneurs;

- promotion programs of a general nature - one-time events to promote Poland and Polish economy.
 The first competition (dedicated to the following sectors: medical equipment, cosmetics, IT/ICT, yachts and boats, furniture, Polish specialty food, health-services sector) is already on-going; applications for grant covering from 50 to up to 85% of project’s eligible costs (which amounts to a maximum of PLN 1 million) can be submitted until August 5th, 2016. The next competition (dedicated to all selected sectors) will begin in mid-November this year.
  • Submeasure 3.2.1 Research to the market
The submeasure supports projects of SMEs concerning implementation of R&D results (conducted by the company itself or to its order), leading to the start of production of new products or services. Part of the project, in addition to the investment, may also be development works and consultancy. The call for proposals (budget: PLN 1000 million) is to be opened from June 1st until August 31st this year.
  • Submeasure 3.2.2 Credit for technological innovation
Within the Submeasure, support may be granted to companies from SME sector planning the realization of investment involving:

- the purchase and implementation of new technology, which would be the basis to start the production of new or significantly improved (in relation to those manufactured in Poland so far) products, processes or services;

- implementation of own new technology, which would be the basis to start the production of new or significantly improved (in relation to those manufactured in Poland so far) products, processes or services.
Call for proposals is to be opened from July until September this year. The budget of the call is PLN 500 million.
  • Submeasure 1.1.1 Industrial research and development works conducted by enterprises
The submeasure provides non-returnable support for companies (both SMEs and large companies) for industrial research and development works. The subject of the project will be research on technological solutions and products, which inscribes in one of so-called National smart specializations (which are presented in the attached presentation). The call for SMEs (budget: PLN 750 million) is to be opened from April 4th until July 29th this year. The call for large companies (budget: PLN 1000 million) is to be opened from June 1st until December 30th this year. There is also a separate call planned in 3rd – 4th quarter this year for SMEs implementing projects outside the Mazowieckie voivodship (call’s budget: 750 million PLN).

  • Submeasure 1.1.2 R&D associated with the creation of a pilot/demonstration installation
The submeasure offers support for projects covering development works, including construction of demonstration installation for testing of the subject of above mentioned works under realistic and operational conditions. Call for proposals (only for large companies) is to be opened from July 6th until August 12th this year. The budget of the call is PLN 500 million.
  • Measure 2.1 Support for investment in R&D infrastructure of enterprises
The measure supports investments in apparatus, equipment, technologies and other infrastructure necessary to conduct R&D works. The effect of the measure implementation will be creation of R&D departments and laboratories in enterprises and creation of R&D centers. This year’s second call for propocals (first one has already ended), with a budget of PLN 460 million) is to be opened from September 1st until October 31st.
  • Measure 1.2 Sectoral programs
The measure co-funds sectoral programs, which include research and development projects of companies operating in specific sectors. Following sectors had their own programs and calls for proposals so far: medical sector (INNOMED program), aircraft sector (Innolot) and chemical sector (Innochem). Until June 16th, applications may be submitted by companies from the textile sector (Innotextile program), until July 11th - companies operating in the field of unmanned systems (InnoSBZ), until August 16th - the creators from video game industry (GameINN), until September 15th - entities from the steel industry (Innostal), until September 30th - entities involved in the production of innovative railway rolling stock (Innotabor). In the third quarter the call for proposals is to be announced for companies from the automotive sector (Innomoto), power generation sector (PBSE) and companies operating in the sector of intelligent devices and systems for power sector (IUSER).

  • Submeasure 2.3.1 BEI pro-innovation services for SMEs
Under this measure, companies, SMEs can finance the purchase of pro-innovative services, leading to the implementation of product or process innovation of technological nature. Only so called Innovation Centres, accredited (or applied for accreditation) by the Ministry of Development, can be contractors of such services (more information here: http://poir.parp.gov.pl/proinnowacyjne-uslugi-iob-dla-msp/poddzialanie-2-3-1-proinnowacyjne-uslugi-iob-dla-msp). The maximum grant amount is PLN 294 thousand (up to 70% of eligible costs).
Applications may be submitted from September 30th this year until February 27th, 2017. The competition will be divided into stages.
The total budget of the competition is PLN 36 million.
  • Submeasure 2.3.2 Vouchers for innovation in SMEs
This submeasure offers companies from the SME sector grants (amounting to PLN 320 thousand, up to 80% of eligible costs) for the purchase of the service consisting in the development of new or significantly improved product, service, technology or a new industrial design pattern.
Only academic units, which have appropriate so-called scientific category, can be contractors of such services (more information here: http://poir.parp.gov.pl/dokumentacja/dokumentacja-do-poddzialania-2-3-2-bony-na-innowacje-dla-msp-2016-r).
Applications for this year's call for proposals can be submitted from June 6th this year until January 30th, 2017. The competition will be divided into stages. The total budget of the competition is PLN 62.5 million.
  • Submeasure 2.3.4 Protection of industrial property
Within the measure it is possible to obtain support for the costs associated with obtaining and execution of industrial property rights protection. The grant, available to companies from the SME sector, may reach up to PLN 500 thousand (up to 50% of eligible costs). Applications may be submitted from July 18th this year until January 20th, 2017. The competition will be divided into stages. The total budget of the competition is PLN 50 million.
