On 6 March 2020, the Senate of the
Republic of Poland adopted without amendment the bill of the Act of 2 March
2020 on special solutions related to the prevention, counteracting and
combating of COVID-19, other infectious diseases and the resulting crisis.
At present, the new act is waiting for the signature of the President of the Republic of Poland to then enter into force. The new Act assumes, among others, the possibility of a binding instruction determined by the employer directed to the employee to perform remote work, provides for an additional parental benefit in the event of the closing of the nursery, kindergarten, school of the employee's child.
In the remaining provisions, the Act refers to the provisions of the Act of 5 December 2008 on preventing and combating infections and infectious diseases in humans, in which involuntary hospitalization or quarantine is also provided for in the case of the Covid-19 virus (Regulation of the Minister of Health of 8 March 2020), a violation of the above provisions is punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to 1 year.
It is worth adding that in the light of new regulations, employee may refuse to go on a business trip to a country where coronavirus prevails.
