In order to stimulate investments in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council of Ministers updated the Programme for supporting investments of significant importance to the Polish economy for the years 2011-2030. The programme supports investment projects aimed at increasing innovation and competitiveness of the Polish economy.
The program is one of the instruments enabling the support of new investment projects of significant importance to the Polish economy. Its main goal is to increase the innovativeness and competitiveness of the Polish economy.
Under the Programme, it is possible to co-finance both large strategic investments and medium-sized innovative projects. Projects that adapt modern technologies and provide for research and development activities are rewarded. The program also promotes establishing cooperation between the economic sector and academic centres.
From now until the end of the year (with the possibility of extension), new investments will be able to obtain support up to 25% of eligible costs or up to 20,000 PLN for newly created jobs. On the occasion of changes related to the amount of support, the grant award mechanism was also simplified by reducing the quantitative criteria for assessing investment projects, modifying the qualitative criteria for assessing investments and facilitating reinvestment.
The level of support depends on:
- the size of the enterprise,
- fulfilled quality criteria,
- investment location.
The support is granted in the form of a subsidy, under an agreement concluded between the Minister of Development, Labour and Technology and the investor. The agreement regulates the terms of the subsidy payment and the investment implementation schedule.
Further information on the amount of subsidies and the criteria for awarding them are available in the following presentation.
