The draft amendment to the Act on the National Cybersecurity System (in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/1148 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 July 2016 on measures for a high common level of security of network and information systems across the Union), which is currently being worked on in the Polish Parliament, significantly increases the number of organizations subject to digital security obligations.

This may mean that many small and medium-sized enterprises will also need to implement security management systems and will be required to carry out periodic audits.

Among the sectors that would be covered by these obligations are:
– postal services
– nuclear energy
– production and distribution of chemical and food products
– industrial production
– digital services
– research
– waste management
